Bring a gaiter or sunblock, and know where you're cleaning your fish ? those Canadian pelicans were all over the Wahoo at the dock.. we were able to donate and gift much of the fish thankfully still.. amazing trip thanks!!

This trip took place during off-season, and the sargasm is pretty bad.
This information was from a local, but, it sounds like the governmental entity that was in charge of helping take care of it, spent their budget on a harvester that they only operate 2-3 days out of the week. Now there's no budget to clean up the beaches and it is just stacking up as the harvester isn't catching it before it gets to the beach.
It's sad that they are letting it deteriote. We love belize.

Do your fishing early on in your stay, you will have a lot of fish to eat for the week. Many places will cook the fish for you, free of charge, so long as you buy their sides. I recommend Martha’s or Robin’s. If you want a private experience, Captain Willie was great. Very knowledgeable.

For permit, be prepared for accurate casting and listening to your guide. I fly fished for permit for the first time and was not as well prepared as I thought. The guides are great and will coach you, but at the end of the day it is up to you to cast accurately to these fish.

Buy a good pair of polarized sunglasses to help spot fish, they make a difference! I used Costas. Also, trust your guide, they want you to catch fish.
